It's a big night for Netflix's Roma and director Alfonso Cuaron!
Cuaron was honored by the Hollywood Foreign Press for Best Director, Motion Picture at the Golden Globe Awards on Sunday in Los Angeles.
His extremely personal film, that was shot in all black and white in his native Mexico, has also been honored for Best Foreign Language Film, as well.
“Cinema at its best, builds bridges to another culture,” he said during his speech at the Beverly Hilton.
“As we grow these bridges, we begin to realize that while they may be strange, they are not unfamiliar.
We begin to understand exactly how much we have in common.”
Cuaron thanked the stars of his period drama, newcomer Yalitza Aparacio and Marina De Tavira for their huge role in the success of the film.
Cuaron's huge success with Roma has Oscar-buzz at its highest, and its so well deserved.
You can still catch this breathtaking film on the big screen or via Netflix right now.
