'Roma' Earns 10 Academy Award Nominations!

Alfonso Cuaron's Roma earned the most Academy Award nominations on Tuesday, a total of 10 including Best Picture for the Netflix film.

Other nominations include Best Lead Actress for newcomer Yalitza Aparicio, Best Supporting Actress for Marina de Tavira, Best Director for Cuaron, Original Screenplay, Best Foreign Language Film, Best Cinemotograpy, Best Sound Editing, Best Sound Mixing, and Best Production Design.

The film, partially based on Cuaron's life, tells the story of an indigenous nanny (Aparicio) working for a middle-class family in Mexico's Roma neighborhood during the early 1970's.

Roma will compete in the Best Picture category against Black Panther, Green Book, A Star is Born, Vice, Bohemian Rhapsody, The Favourite, and BlacKkKlansman.

Netflix earned a total of 15 Academy Award nominations, doubling their total number of nominations to date.

Roma is currently available for streaming on Netflix and in select theaters.
